The Secret
For me I think I'd envision health... a happy loving family... happiness at work... i don't know - i guess i would like to have less debt, but it's definetly not the focus.

You're thinking just like my mother. The entire movie was not about wanting all these materialistic possesions. The whole point of the movie was to never give yourself limits. And they chose money, etc as an example, since most people only think about the material part of life.
However, the part where they said: "What do you really want?" Made me think that I was selfish. Because, in my case, I can't think about myself, I only think about what's best for Naima and what she needs/wants. I can't go into a mall and get things for myself, I always end up buying stuff for her. My dad also tried to make me understand that, it's not about materialism, it's about your positive thinking.
Take debt for example. No one wants it, no one wants to deal with it. Yet, you think about it non stop in your thoughts. You never stop and think to yourself: "Okay, this will be paid off next time" or, "I'll get cheque in the mail today". Like that whole concept of expecting bills.
To be brutally honest with you, my dad started thinking that way. He kept saying to himself that he was going to get cheques instead of bills. Well, it's been 3 days and he hasn't gotten a single bill. His cheques kept coming in the mail from previous clients of his.
So what I am getting at, is, don't give yourself limits. You can do what you want to do, if you keep your mind to it, and throw away the negative. Don't focus on what you don't want, focus on what you want. And it doesn't necessarily mean money, or a house. Before you even think about wanting money, think about how you are going to feel when you get, think about how you are going to use it for. This is why this movie is called The Secret, because so many people don't know how to use it. Why do you think there was only one "Beethoven", or one "Eisntein"? Because they knew how the secret works. They were wise, not greedy.
It's not immediately thinking 'I want to win the lottery' and then Im going to buy a house and a car. It starts by thinking how you feel when you do win it. Start your day by thinking how good it will make you feel when you get to share it with the ones you love.
To me, that's what it was about. And that's how Im going to think.
Im not telling you think the way I do, but I just thought I'd give you my honest opinion.
